ACU Sport Gym has been significantly improving member experience by introducing a new gym membership system, online member portal and payment system. Members will soon be able to purchase a membership or visit pass, register for group fitness classes, and update their personal details online. This is a major step forward, as the previous system was outdated and impacted both members and staff with limited functionality and inefficiencies.
The portal is part of a major refit of ACU Sport's gym operation software that brings together membership, payment, and booking systems to provide a streamlined experience for both members and staff. The ACU Sport Gym project team investigated software setups in use at other sport and recreation facilities to determine the best solution then engaged IT to assist with selection and implementation based on requirements.
ACU Sport Gym wanted to provide members with a fully-functional member site that would provide an industry standard gym experience, and address specific member and staff feedback.
"Member satisfaction is crucial to the success of programs and services offered in ACU Sport Gyms. Based on recent feedback we wanted to provide members with a more digital, streamlined experience where they could self-serve and engage with the gym on their own terms. We are confident this solution will create improved efficiencies for our members"
– Paul McJannett, Director, Student Engagement and Services.
Are you a gym member?
The new payment system requires all members to provide authorisation to transfer their details to the new system. If you're a direct debit member, you will need to authorise the transfer of your existing payment details to the new system as soon as possible. To do this, just speak to a staff member the next time you visit the gym.
