Stay safe

As we see the COVID-19 situation evolve in Victoria and NSW, it’s a timely reminder for us take personal responsibility and follow COVIDSafe practices to stay well. Taking care of both our physical and mental health has never been more important.

Practising good hand hygiene and maintaining a distance is still the best way to stop the spread. But it’s also important to focus on our mental wellbeing during this time of uncertainty.

Build some time in your day to focus on yourself and your wellbeing:

  • Take a break – from all screens, and switch off for some downtime.
  • Keep up your healthy habits – good eating and exercise habits are just the start.
  • Stimulate your mind – whether it’s reading, writing, puzzles, painting or other hobbies, give your brain a challenge.
  • Keep the connection – stay connected with your families, friends and loved ones, either virtually or in-person.
  • Be there for each other – everyone is having a different experience through these challenging times, so talk to a colleague about how you’re feeling or check in on others.

SafeZone App

As some of us are staggering our start and finish times on campus, remember to download the free SafeZone app and activate the lone-working functionality whenever you are working alone. The app can also be used to call for help, emergency assistance or first-aid, and it connects students and staff directly with the ACU Security team or emergency services.

The SafeZone app is part of our commitment to ensuring your safety and security.
