ACU will now offer virtual Orientation experiences for our mid-year commencing students. These will be supplemented by information booths on campuses during Semester 2 Orientation week, subject to the easing of public health restrictions.
ACU campuses and commencing students will not be constrained by location for Orientation week activities, with course and support services information to be delivered nationally. The program will include pre-recorded sessions, live webinars, student panels, campus tours and information that is downloadable. This will provide students with the opportunity to meet professional and academic staff and to meet peers.
Students will be introduced to their local campus by their respective Associate Vice-Chancellor or Campus Dean and can explore the campus through videos and images.
Student leaders from clubs and societies and Campus Student Associations will also have an opportunity to interact with commencing students, to highlight the co-curricular activities and events available both on campus and virtually.
Virtual Orientation will be open from 20 July for two weeks and commencing students will be able to access information to plan their Orientation prior to 20 July.
The Office of Student Success is working closely with Marketing and External Relations, Faculty Marketing Managers, co-curricular stakeholders and current students to co-create our virtual Orientation experiences.
While these events will be virtual, we will still require the physical presence of some staff on campus to deliver the live sessions and chat support. The Student Enrichment Advisors and student volunteers will be critical to the delivery of these Orientation activities.
