ACU is committed to the ongoing development of staff. Last year provided a range of opportunities for staff to reach their potential in their current roles and equip them for future opportunities.
Building and sustaining the capability of staff is key to the achievement of our mission and our strategic priorities. The commitment to life-long learning at ACU represents a significant investment by the university. This includes a comprehensive range of formal and informal learning programs providing opportunities for staff to progress their careers and develop their skills and capabilities.
Learning and development opportunities exist for a range of areas across the university - staff learning happens every day through formal learning programs, online materials, videos, podcasts, books and articles. Learning can also be informal through interactions and exchanges with colleagues, feedback provided by supervisors, as well as on-the-job activities like trying new approaches and the process of regular reflection.
Last year saw the development and co-creation of a suite of new programs aligned to the Capability Development Framework (CDF). These programs continue to support staff in their professional development allowing them to progress and build the organisational capability required to achieve the university’s priorities.
Staff and supervisors should consult the Learning and Development site, to develop a plan for the year ahead, and can raise a learning query in Service Central for advice, recommendations and support.
