Time to shine

Nominations for the Vice-Chancellor’s Staff Excellence Awards are now open. The awards are an annual opportunity to recognise and celebrate the work staff have undertaken over the previous three years. Individual category award winners will receive $500 and winning teams are granted $2,500 (per team).
In addition, a Vice-Chancellor’s Medal for Excellence will also be awarded to the most outstanding nominee, and the medal winner will receive $5,000 (if an individual) or $10,000 (if a team).

The awards are open to all academic and professional staff members, including full-time or fractional, fixed-term, contract, sessional and casual staff, who have been employees of ACU for at least one year prior to the date of nomination.

This year has presented unparalleled challenges as the world responds to COVID-19. If you seen a colleague or project go above and beyond to support students or staff at this time, do not miss this opportunity to nominate and commend this excellent work.

Visit the Vice-Chancellor’s Staff Excellence Awards webpage for more information and to obtain nomination forms.

Tips for submitting a nomination
  1. The best nominations are those that tell a story about how our staff have demonstrated excellence and gone above and beyond to make an impact within the university and in the wider community.
  2. Aim to keep your nomination succinct – there’s no need to repeat information.
  3. Make sure you answer all the selection criteria. Tell us, what really made the difference?
  4. If your nomination was unsuccessful in a previous round of awards, consider reapplying. Projects within the past three years are eligible to enter.
  5. Ask questions if there’s anything about the nominations process you need to clarify – email vcadmin@acu.edu.au.
  6. Don’t be daunted by the task of nominating an inspiring colleague or team. Who knows, they could be the next Vice-Chancellor’s Medal for Excellence winner!
