A key focus of Learning and Development at ACU is to provide a variety of opportunities for all staff. This year, we are launching the Supervise for Success program for our supervisors.
The program has been designed to provide supervisors with a range of practical and foundational people-management development opportunities aligned to the ACU Capability Framework, with a focus on refreshing or resetting techniques, staying up to date with people management responsibilities and processes, and networking with your peers.
The Supervise for Success program will run virtually from 5-19 November, with six modules offered in 2020 and more to be communicated for 2021.
You can select individual modules and design your own attendance pattern.

This program will outline the industrial frameworks and instruments that apply at ACU which inform people management decisions. This will enable supervisors to act with an understanding of principles and risks and take actions confidently.

A practical and inspiring session focused on encouraging and equipping supervisors to provide constructive feedback to their staff assuredly and with assertiveness.

An informative session focussed on the supervisor’s role in managing leave at ACU. The session will cover the major leave types and provisions available and the supervisor’s responsibility in monitoring and managing.
Friday 13 November 2020: 2pm–3pm (link to register)
This two-day program provides the foundation from which a supervisor can identify and respond to a staff member who may be experiencing a mental health problem in an appropriate and compassionate way.

This program will enable supervisors to plan and manage the end-to-end recruitment process to get the best appointment outcome.

This session covers typical flexible work arrangements at ACU and the recent changes to policy and the application process.
Friday 13 November 2020: 10am–11am (link to register)
