There were two reasons to celebrate in mid-April of 1996: it was Linh Chen’s birthday and also her first day working at ACU.
At this time, Linh began her role as a Technology Officer with the School of Arts and Sciences at MacKillop Campus, North Sydney. Linh was initially located at Mount Street, which encompassed the MacKillop Towers, the Mount Street Annex, and the Marion Block. The science lab occupied the lower floor of the Mount Street Annex, and this was where Linh honed her craft.
With the growth of ACU, the laboratories relocated to their current site in the James Carroll Building at 40 Edward Street. The number of practical science classes increased exponentially, and Linh further developed her skills over time, contributing to the technical operations for the bioscience, environmental science, and research programs. At the same time, Linh was working in collaboration with the School of Nursing and providing support to the School of Exercise Science (Human Movement).
Linh further demonstrated her versatility in 2013, by accepting the opportunity to join the School of Exercise Science (now the School of Behavioural and Health Sciences) at the Mount St Mary Campus. Linh continues to be based at Strathfield as a highly valued member of Technical Services, providing exceptional support across the disciplines of Exercise Science, Exercise Physiology, and Science.
Congratulations Linh on reaching this milestone and for everything you have achieved during your 25 years of service at ACU.
