Supporting student and staff veterans

ACU community observed ANZAC Day commemoration services at most campuses last week, giving thanks for the selfless service of Australian and New Zealand men and women who fought for the freedoms we enjoy today.

You can view many poignant images and videos on Workplace of the ACU commemorative services attended at our campuses by staff, students, student veterans and Senate members:

In addition to supporting our student veterans to transition and thrive at ACU, the ACU Student Veteran Services (Education Pathways) and the Office of Identity and Mission would like to connect with ACU staff members with a service history to support them and include them as participants and guests in commemorations and other relevant occasions.

ACU’s target is to become the university of choice for discharged personnel. This ambitious plan is based on current strong student veteran numbers and targeted support programs and activities.

It is envisaged that, as the student veteran cohort expand their peer network, ACU staff veterans could provide a wider community for the student veterans to enhance their sense of belonging and mission while they are studying at the university.
