Last week, the Human Resources (HR) team came together to celebrate the significant milestone of 25 years of service at ACU by Anthony Enders. Joined virtually by his HR colleagues from across all ACU campuses, and in person by the Brisbane HR team, Anthony was presented with his 25-year service award by Dr Omer Yezdani, Director, OPSM.
Anthony’s career at ACU began on 16 July 1996 in his debut role as a Library Shelving Assistant at our Mitchelton campus library. His engagement at ACU since that time has been a colourful journey and one that has been multi-dimensional.
At the time he was first employed, Anthony was studying Management and Human Resources as part of a Bachelor of Business, and his talents were spotted by the Personnel Relations team who in 1999 offered him an initial fixed-term contract as an Administrative Officer in Staff Services and Employee Systems (part of Personnel Relations).
He continued to develop an interest in HR systems and added to his engagement with ACU as a student, completing a Master of Information Systems, and was also engaged as a sessional lecturer in the school of Business and Informatics (Brisbane).
In 2002, Anthony was appointed to the role of HRMIS Administrator and was chosen for the implementation team moving from MicrOpay to PayGlobal HR/Payroll Information Systems, a system he administered for the length of its use at ACU.
Anthony has been instrumental in many innovative firsts and sector-leading system and process implementations during his time at ACU. In 2004, his achievements were recognised when he was one of the inaugural recipients of the then ACU Vice-Chancellor's Development Award for his work in investigating the way electronic workflow shaped the employment of staff at Australian universities.
Since 2006, and across a variety of roles, Anthony has held significant responsibility for the smooth operations of HR systems and the integration of staff information into the many other organisational systems that rely on this data. In this capacity, Anthony has provided valued guidance, knowledge and support to countless colleagues across all areas of ACU.
A lot has changed since Anthony began his ACU career in 1996, but Anthony’s commitment to excellence, his kind spirit and dedication to acting for the common good have been unwavering. He is a true reflection of the mission, vision and values of ACU and an inspiration to those that have the opportunity of working with him.
It is with pleasure that we take this opportunity to congratulate Anthony on reaching this significant milestone, the youngest at ACU to do so.
Congratulations and thank you, Anthony, from all of your colleagues at ACU!
