Wear it Purple Day

This Friday 27 August is Wear it Purple Day. Founded in 2010, Wear it Purple Day is an opportunity to combat bullying and harassment of LGBTIQ+ young people through:

  • raising awareness about the challenges they confront
  • offering opportunities to network and see that they are not alone
  • creating safe environments where LGBTIQ+ young people and their allies can express themselves
  • furthering collaborations to affirm LGBTIQ+ young people.

Staff on the Brisbane Campus are invited for cupcakes and purple ribbons at 10.30am in the Community Court.

Regardless of where you are, feel free to wear anything you have that’s purple on Friday for LGBTIQ+ young people.

ACU’s Ally Network

The ACU Ally Network launched in 2021 as a reflection of our commitment to the pastoral care of staff and students who identify as LGBTIQ+.

Ally network training in September

Due to extended lockdowns and travel restrictions, the intended in-person training for Melbourne Campus staff in September will now move to an online event.

This also means one more training opportunity this year for staff from other campuses to attend virtually. Further detail will be shared closer to the proposed 28 September training session.
