A message from Chief People Officer Anna Phillips:
Since joining ACU in September, I have received a very warm welcome and have had the pleasure of meeting many of you to hear about your experiences of working at the university.
I’ve learnt of the commitment and passion you have for providing quality education and learning experiences for our students. It’s also been wonderful to hear about how you have all supported each other through what have been some particularly challenging times.
It is this strong sense of community, together with ACU’s mission and values, that drew me to ACU.
As ACU’s first Chief People Officer, I am passionate about helping people to identify and realise their strengths, to navigate change, and to work together as a team.
I’m looking forward to leading the development of a contemporary ACU People Plan, which will set the strategic direction for our people agenda over the next three to five years.
This plan will look to grow our workforce capability to help us operate in an increasingly complex and changing environment. It will also provide us with clarity of purpose for focused future effort.
The ACU People Plan will be our road map for achieving these goals and, as it is being developed, I will be keen to hear more about what matters most to you at work and how we can foster a positive organisational culture that brings our mission and values to life.
Several key activities are already underway. These include resetting the HR focus, enhancing our service delivery, and exploring ways to simplify our HR-related policies and processes. There is also a continued focus on how we can best attract, retain, and develop our people.
It is an honour to be able to contribute to the university’s continued success by helping its people to grow and adapt to ensure that ACU remains strong now and into the future.
As we head towards the end of the year, I hope that you will take some time to recharge and reconnect with your families, friends, and loved ones.
I look forward to working with you.
