Introduction of Unique Student Identifier

Staff are advised that, from 1 January 2021, all commencing tertiary students are required to provide their education provider with their Unique Student Identifier (USI). A USI is a student’s individual education number for life and has been used in the VET sector since 2015.

Some students have already provided their USI in Student Connect. For those who haven’t, they can create or find their USI at the Australian Government's USI webpage and then submit it via Student Connect.

The deadline for students to provide their USI is 1 March 2021. Students who don’t provide their USI by this date risk being removed from their course.

If a student needs help creating or submitting their USI, they should contact AskACU.
