The Vice-Chancellor’s Staff Excellence Awards are returning for 2021. It’s time to start thinking about whose excellent work you would like to nominate.
Have you seen a colleague, research group or project team achieve exemplary results? Have you witnessed your peers go above and beyond to support students or staff during the pandemic? Now is the opportunity to nominate and commend this excellent work.
Nominations will open on 12 July. And this year, to make it easier for you to nominate worthy staff, the nomination form and process has been simplified.
You’ll also be able to nominate others in a new award category: Excellence in Sustainability.
This new category will recognise the contributions of staff whose initiatives promote or support sustainable practices, which include the indivisible link between social, economic, and environmental sustainability and ACU’s future.
Awards are also available for the following categories:
Mission Excellence
Recognising individuals and teams who have demonstrated excellence in living out the mission of ACU through areas of service, the pursuit of knowledge, the dignity of the human person and contributions to the common good.
Service Excellence
Recognising outstanding service by staff. ‘Service’ is interpreted broadly and includes activities, initiatives, practices and projects that have contributed to the delivery of exceptional or significantly improved services to ACU’s staff, students or external stakeholders. Service can be demonstrated via professional services, teaching or research provided at ACU.
Excellence in Student Experience
Recognising individuals and teams who have shown evidence of the highest level of service to students and outstanding achievement in the support of the student experience. This may include an outstanding contribution in academic or student support services, or the provision of resources to facilitate learning and enhance the student experience.
Excellence in Research and Research Partnership
Recognising the important role that academic staff play in developing and managing research partnerships, and the significant benefits that these collaborations bring to ACU. This includes developing and managing a significant national or international research partnership.
Excellence in Community Engagement
Recognising individuals or teams involved in significant university community engagement projects. Community engagement draws upon capabilities of the university’s staff to work collaboratively with community groups and organisations on projects that build capacity, improve wellbeing, and produce just and sustainable outcomes in the interests of individuals, communities and the university.
Spirit of Reconciliation Award.
Recognising the contributions of staff who strive to achieve culturally appropriate programs and activities for the betterment of our students and staff, and commitment towards meeting the university’s Indigenous targets.
Visit the revised Vice-Chancellor’s Staff Excellence Awards and Medal Policy for more information.
Further information will also be shared with you when the nominations process opens on 12 July.
