It’s nearly tax time and, in coming weeks, once the final transfer of all payroll information for the financial year has been received by the Australian Taxation Office (ATO), the status of your 2020/2021 Income Statement (formerly known as a Payment Summary) will be made ‘Tax ready’ via your online myGov account.
ACU has until 14 July to finalise your payroll information and Income Statement details for 2020/2021 with the ATO, and we will send a further communication to staff once this has occurred.
Although you can view your information at any time throughout the year via your myGov account, it is important that you do not use the Income Statement details to complete your tax return until the information is finalised and identified online as ‘Tax ready’.
In addition to the communication from ACU, a message will also be sent to your myGov Inbox from the ATO when all Income Statements from your employer/s are ‘Tax ready’.
If you don’t already have one, you can find information on how to set up your myGov account and link it to ATO online services via this online guidance. Alternatively, if you don’t have a myGov account, you will need to contact the ATO directly to obtain your Income Statement details once they are finalised.
