Our current agreement, the Australian Catholic University Staff Enterprise Agreement 2017-2021, nominally expires on 30 June 2021. However, it continues in force until there is agreement to a new enterprise agreement with staff and union parties.
The enterprise agreement provides that the parties will commence negotiations for a new enterprise agreement three months before it expires; that is, 30 March 2021. The university has held a preliminary meeting with union parties to discuss the arrangements for bargaining.
There are a number of formal requirements associated with bargaining for a new enterprise agreement. One of these is the Notice of Employee Representational Rights, which provides formal notice to all staff that we have commenced bargaining for a new enterprise agreement. This notice was issued to staff on 30 March 2021.
If you are covered by the current enterprise agreement, you will receive the 2 per cent increase in July 2021. All other existing conditions – leave, university holidays, working arrangements – will continue to apply until there is a new enterprise agreement in force.
Information for staff is available and the enterprise agreement and bargaining 2021 site will be updated regularly.
