Reconciliation Week 2021: More than a word
ACU is committed to generating local, meaningful interaction which promotes dialogue between all cultures, especially between First Peoples and those of other cultural backgrounds.
Have you ever found yourself wanting to engage in conversation, but weren’t sure where to start? The good news is that, when it comes to First Peoples, ACU has a track record of encouraging genuine conversation among students and staff of the university as well as actively calling for change in the political sphere. You won’t find it hard to step into this conversation, and you’re welcome in it.
Whoever you are and whatever your background, it’s clear to see that the controls exercised and opportunities presented to Aboriginal and Torres Strait Island people have been more than just a rocky road.
Campus Ministry is encouraging collaboration between a range of student services and Indigenous Higher Education Units, inviting staff and students to undertake some simple actions and engage with others around the theme ‘more than a word’ across a number of days in Week 12.
In the final week of the semester, beginning Monday 24 May, you’re invited to take part in a variety of different opportunities at our campuses to explore and perhaps learn a little more about how you can help heal our nation.
