ACU’s IT infrastructure is being continually developed. Learn about recent highlights and milestones for key IT projects across our campuses.
In partnership with the Learning and Teaching Centre (LTC), these projects aim to design and implement modern, flexible learning and teaching spaces that more fully support today’s students and educators.
There will be 10 Active Learning rooms and 16 HyFlex rooms across the Strathfield, Canberra, Ballarat, North Sydney, and Brisbane campuses.
There will also be two exciting Innovation Hubs in Melbourne and Ballarat (more information coming soon). In the meantime, take a closer look using this Virtual Tour.
For staff
MFA will be added to more applications in Q1 2022. This advances the goal of making ACU systems even more safe and secure.
Remember, once you’ve authenticated for MFA in a browser, it will authenticate you for all the other browser applications using MFA, so fewer sign-ins will be required and your MFA prompts will not increase.
For students
A high-level plan and schedule has been developed for rolling out MFA for students. More will be shared about this as planning continues.
Through auditing and upgrading our current facilities, this project will provide a faster, simpler, more secure and more reliable network across our Victorian campuses by Q2 2022. It will also start to lay the foundations for future sustainability and smart campus initiatives.
Windows 11 is available for home computers, but the plan for staff computers is still in discussion. There are a lot of factors to consider and there is testing to be done before making it available for all staff computers. This is expected early 2022, and more information will be shared as soon as possible.
This project aims to assist clinicians with running remote sessions by implementing a fit-for-purpose telehealth platform across all ACU health clinics and campuses. It will be heading into pilot shortly.
The legacy database has been upgraded to a new Power Platform application and will provide a more automated, up-to-date, and accurate solution. It’s currently in User Acceptance Testing and expected to go live in November. Kudos to all the teams involved.
