AGILE (the Academy of Global Impact and Leadership through Ethics) is a new student success program for high-ATAR students that will help elevate performance and reduce attrition rates for this high-potential group.
A considerable body of evidence tells us that completing a university degree is associated with professional, social and personal benefits. As part of ACU’s mission, we’re committed to helping our students realise the full potential of a university degree. For high-ATAR students, this means offering them opportunities to envisage the impact they can have on the world and to act on that vision.
In August this year, the Office of the Provost engaged Dr Joanna Winchester, Dr John Mahoney and Maria Cindric to lead a student success program. The team are delivering a new program to prepare, connect and excite students across all stages of their studies. The initial focus is on 2022 commencing students with the launch of AGILE.
AGILE aims to address the current attrition rate amongst commencing high-ATAR students by offering an innovative opportunity for high achievers to elevate their performance. The program is exclusive to 2022 first-year students with an ATAR of 90+. However, the plan is to move towards a program that draws in participation from a wider range of students.
AGILE members will have access to a range of personal and career-enhancing opportunities, including masterclass seminars with ACU’s nationally recognised teaching staff and global leaders, and private access to talks from Australia’s most inspiring leaders.
Students in the AGILE program will graduate ACU not only with a degree, but with the experience, knowledge, and aptitude to be any employers’ first choice, ready to contribute and shape the world’s new tomorrow.
Nominations are now open to appoint two members of our academic staff to the university Senate for a term ending in 2028.
