Spring 2021 graduation

The Spring 2021 graduation ceremonies, scheduled for October, were disrupted by COVID-19 lockdowns and ceremonies were postponed to December. We’re pleased to announce that Sydney graduation ceremonies can now proceed within a COVID-safe framework and pending any further disruptions.

Melbourne graduation ceremonies have been further postponed to 2022 and all graduates communicated with.

Our students’ university experience culminates with their graduation. It is a significant event in the university’s calendar and an opportunity for staff to offer a final show of support and celebrate the accomplishments of our graduates.

All staff with a university degree or diploma are welcome to participate in the academic procession at the ceremonies.

Ceremony details

There will be two ceremonies in Sydney, held at Rosehill Gardens:

  • Friday 17 December, 12pm – Faculty of Health Sciences and Faculty of  Law and Business
  • Friday 17 December, 5pm – Faculty of Education and Arts and Faculty of Theology and Philosophy
Note: These are rescheduled ceremonies, strictly reserved for students who completed their course at the end of Semester 1 and were eligible to attend October graduation. All students who complete their course after 18 August will attend a ceremony in 2022 as per the usual process.
Staff participation

All Sydney-based staff are invited to participate in the ceremonies and assist with ceremonial and event activities on the day such as graduate registration, crowd logistics, and graduate briefing.

All staff participating in the graduation event must submit the Staff Registration for Graduation form available in Service Central. Registration will close on Thursday 2 December.
