ShareWe will be launching a new Credit Management system across ACU on Tuesday 21 September. From this date, all credit applications for prior learning will be submitted via the online application form and processed in Credit Management. Direct applicants will be invited to apply for credit as part of their course application. An online search of our new credit precedents database will also be made available to students in the near future.
We know that recognition of prior learning is an important factor for many students when choosing where to study. We also know that ACU has lost potential students in the past due to delays in the processing of credit and a lack of information about what credit they might be granted.
Credit Management is expected to address these issues by:
It will also:
A successful pilot of the system was conducted in July and August, when students from select courses across the faculties were invited to apply using the new online application form. The pilot showed that students and staff were able to use the new system successfully and highlighted some changes that we have implemented to improve the user experience for staff and students. Working with staff who took part in the pilot also informed the development of training material.
We have recently appointed a two-person Credit team to assist in the management of credit and support staff during the transition to the new system. Neha Aggarwal has joined ACU as the Coordinator, Credit Management, and she will be joined by Erin Heywood. The Credit team will sit within the Direct Admissions team and report to Katrina Woods.
We will be contacting Course Coordinators and school administrative staff who have been nominated by their schools as system users over the next week with information about training and other support that will be provided over the coming months.
If you have any questions, please contact the Credit team.
