The Faculty of Health Sciences is pleased to launch the Aquero lecture series, linking ACU’s mission, vision and values to the faculty’s patron saint, Saint Bernadette. Aquero means ‘the one of whom I speak’ in Saint Bernadette’s language, Occitan.
The Aquero lecture series honours the Catholic intellectual tradition by inspiring progressive dialogue towards principled leadership in a global health paradigm that is constantly changing.
Please join us as Dr Brian M Kane, Senior Director, Ethics for the Catholic Health Association (CHA) of the United States, delivers the inaugural lecture on achieving health equity and cohesion in a divided world.
Dr Brian M Kane is responsible for developing programs and materials on clinical and organisational ethics and assisting in promoting Church relations between the ministry and individual bishops, as well as the United States Conference of Catholic Bishops. He is editor of Health Care Ethics USA and writes a regular column for Health Progress. Prior to joining CHA in 2019, Dr Kane was Dean of the Division of Liberal Arts and Social Sciences, and Director of International Academic Affairs at DeSales University
