ACU's business and innovation hub Co-Lab, has been awarded a $428,000 grant from Investment NSW to expand its hugely successful range of innovation programs and initiatives.
The funding is part of the NSW Government's Boosting Business Innovation Program (BBIP) aimed at: strengthening the innovation ecosystem in NSW, attracting investment for public funded research organisations, and supporting industry with the commercialisation of products and services.
The BBIP program now includes 14 institutions, including all major NSW universities, the CSIRO, The Australian Nuclear Science and Technology Organisation (ANSTO), and the National Measurement Institute.
Co-Lab will continue its efforts to develop and delivering specialised programs, in collaboration with internal and external partners, that align with ACU's Mission and, which advance the university's Research and Enterprise Plan 2022-2023.
On Co-Lab receiving these grant funds, Executive Dean of Theology and Philosophy Professor Dermot Nestor, said, "Securing this major grant through Investment NSW is a significant achievement by the Co-Lab Team and testifies to the innovative character, quality and impact of their work to date. Alongside institutional support, the grant provides a solid platform for Co-Lab to advance its work in areas such as social enterprise, entrepreneurship and research commercialisation, all framed by the principled ideal that gives it its name: collaboration".
