GovHack

Join our ACU-sponsored GovHack Hackathon event this weekend, 19-21 August.

What is it?

GovHack is an annual competition involving teams across Australia and New Zealand, working with open government data. Participants need to create a 'proof of concept' and a video of how the data can be reused – all within a 46-hour deadline.

It’s a great place to meet, greet and connect with like-minded people, including leaders, employers, professionals, students and staff.

Why get involved?

It’s a great opportunity for you to build work-ready skills under time pressure while working with a diverse group of participants. And you will walk away knowing you’ve made a positive impact on the open data cause.

Free food and non-alcoholic beverages will be provided to participants throughout the event, not to mention opportunities for some great prizes and awards, such as:

  • People’s Choice Award
  • Global GovHack prizes
  • Spirit of GovHack prizes for outstanding participation and collaboration both locally and overall
  • GovHack finalists’ teams may also receive flights and accommodation to the GovHack Red Carpet Awards.
Who can join?
Students and staff from all disciplines are welcome and no expertise is required. The key theme for this year’s competition is 'ideation' or idea development.
