Creating an Inclusive Environment
Tuesday 13 September, 9.30am–1.30pm
Audience: All staff
An inclusive workplace respects and values the diverse talents and abilities of all individuals and is a place where people feel a sense of belonging that aligns with our mission at ACU. In this workshop, learners explore specific actions and skills they can personalise and use to create an environment of inclusion. You’ll learn about unconscious bias and negative stereotypes and what you can do to mitigate them and will develop an “all in” plan for being inclusive.
High Impact Feedback and Listening
Tuesday 6 September, 9.30am–1.30pm
Audience: All staff
Become more confident in giving and receiving positive and developmental feedback, and enhance your listening skills to accurately understand messages as they are intended by the speaker.
Developing Yourself and Others
Thursday 15 September, 9.30am–1.30pm
Audience: Supervisors
This program is designed to introduce supervisors to a practical process to guide development planning for their team members and themselves. You’ll learn to create meaningful plans that focus on individual and team development needs and increase the likelihood that development plans will be implemented and their goals achieved.
Networking for Enhanced Collaboration
Monday 26 September, 9.30am–1.30pm
Audience: All staff
This course will help learners increase personal and team value by teaching them to cultivate a network they can contact for information, advice and coaching. Learners identify what information and expertise they need and who can provide it, practise asking for help, and then learn techniques for maintaining strong working relationships.
Setting Goals and Reviewing Results
Thursday 1 September, 9.30am–1.30pm
Audience: Supervisors
People are more engaged and strive for better results when they feel ownership of their work process and outcomes. This course will show the positive effect of shifting the traditional role of planner and evaluator from the leader to a shared responsibility between leader and employee.

This program focuses on the role of individuals in implementing change. Participants discover their Change IQ, learn about the phases of change that many people experience and are introduced to best practices that will enable them to tackle and overcome challenges.
R U OK? Day
Thursday 8 September, 12pm–1pm
Audience: All staff
R U OK? Day is a national call to action to empower people to connect in supportive ways, each and every day. You will learn about four simple and effective steps that can help you start a conversation and confidently respond to someone who is not OK. The session will acknowledge the mental wellbeing continuum and where to access further support and resources.

Audience: Hiring managers
Gain a greater understanding of the end-to-end recruitment process and the role and responsibilities as the selection committee chair, ensuring the process is equitable, transparent and timely and candidates have a positive experience.
The Art of Behavioural Interviewing
Monday 12 September, 9am–1pm
Audience: All staff
This workshop explores how to conduct interviews that are objective, fair and provide the candidate the opportunity to shine. You’ll learn how to build rapport, manage an interview and ask pertinent questions to gather data that are predictive of future on-the-job success.
Coaching Essentials
Wednesday 21 September 9.30am–1.30pm and Wednesday 28 September 9.30am–1.30pm

Develop a coaching mindset and practise a structured process to accelerate development by bringing out the best in others. This is a two half-day virtual workshop.
