Library transition to OpenAthens

We recently told you about changes when linking to library resources in your online units. The transition to OpenAthens will also result in a change to the ways you can sign in.

If you like to use the library website, databases A–Z list and Library search as your starting point for finding library resources, you won’t notice much difference. If you prefer to start your research at Google or go to your favourite database or publisher (eg Informit, Proquest, etc), after 11 July you will be able to sign in directly from there by doing the following:

  • Find the site’s login link.
  • Look for an institutional login option, and/or OpenAthens (via Federation).
  • Choose Australian Catholic University as your institution.
  • Sign in using your ACU username and password.

Remember, you can now use the OpenAthens link generator to create new links or convert EZproxy links for use in your online units.

Not every database is yet working in the generator. If you receive an error message when trying to create or convert a link, please contact LibraryHelp@acu.edu.au
