The Workplace Gender Equality Agency (WGEA) has today awarded ACU the Employer of Choice for Gender Equality (EOCGE) citation* for the 12th consecutive year. The citation is designed to encourage, recognise and promote active commitment to achieving gender equality in Australian workplaces.
ACU is among 120 organisations, including seven universities, to have been recognised this year.
WGEA Director Mary Wooldridge said EOCGE citation holders were recognised as some of the best employers in Australia, who were dedicated to action in achieving gender equality.
“Critically, these organisations are delivering on a formula that sees better support structures in place for working families; stronger actions to address pay inequalities; and strategic recruitment and promotion practices that help to encourage the full participation of women at work,” Ms Wooldridge said.
“We extend our congratulations to these leading employers and look forward to working with them closely to accelerate positive change across Australian workplaces.”
ACU Vice-Chancellor and President Professor Zlatko Skrbis said the citation reinforced the importance of the work ACU was doing to achieve gender equality outcomes.
“We are proud to once again be recognised as an employer of choice for the work we are doing to progress gender equality at ACU,” Professor Skrbis said. “At ACU, we are committed to driving positive change to achieve better outcomes for all our staff.”
ACU has continued its focus on gender equality by:
ACU will soon launch its new Gender Equality, Diversity and Inclusion Strategy and Action Plan.
