Thinking about retirement? Preparation can go a long way to ensuring you're financially and emotionally ready for the road ahead. Knowing where to start can be overwhelming, but did you know there are several retirement options and supports available to you at ACU? Consider yours and your family’s needs, plan ahead and discuss your retirement approach with your supervisor.
We have a range of options available that can be tailored for your individual situation to best meet your needs and circumstances.
Depending on your individual workload, you can reduce your working days under a pre-retirement agreement.
If you are currently working full-time, you have an option to reduce the hours you work to between 0.9 to 0.6 fraction, or if you are currently working part-time and employed on a 0.5 fraction or greater, you have an option to reduce the hours you work to 0.4 fraction.
While you are working reduced hours, ACU will continue to contribute to your superannuation scheme at your full-time or part-time salary rate which was in place prior to the start of the agreement.
Discuss your interest in a pre-retirement agreement with your supervisor in the first instance. Your supervisor may ask you for more information to discuss possible working arrangements with you and may need to seek advice from Human Resources about your request.
Learn more about pre-retirement agreements or take a look at our FAQs. Contact our Human Resources team via Service Central for any questions.
