Applications for 2022 citations and awards for outstanding contributions to student learning through excellence in teaching are now open. These include ACU awards and the Australian Awards for University Teaching (AAUT).
Citations and awards for excellence in teaching are designed to recognise and reward staff who have made a significant contribution to student learning at the university. There are several different categories outlined in the table below.
The assessment criteria for the awards vary according to the category, but common criteria are:

ACU Vice-Chancellor's Award for Excellence in Teaching | $10,000 | Academic staff (individuals or teams) who have been nominated by their faculty based on specific criteria. |
ACU Vice-Chancellor's Award for Excellence in Postgraduate Teaching | $10,000 |
Academic staff (individuals or teams) who have been nominated by their faculty based on specific criteria. |
ACU Citations for Outstanding Contributions to Student Learning: General | $5000 |
Academic and professional staff (individuals or teams) who have made a significant and sustained contribution to student learning at ACU over at least three years. |
ACU Citations for Outstanding Contributions to Student Learning: Early Career | $5000 |
Nominees with no more than five years of experience teaching in a higher education institution, including tutoring and part-time teaching. |
ACU Citations for Outstanding Contributions to Student Learning: Sessional staff | $5000 |
Sessional academic staff (individuals or teams) who have made a significant and sustained contribution to student learning at ACU over at least three years. |
ACU Citations for Outstanding Contributions to Student Learning: Integrating Catholic Intellectual Tradition in Teaching Practice | $5000 | Individual and teams who have developed themes and activities which reflect Catholic Intellectual Tradition in units of study. |
ACU Citations for Outstanding Contributions to Student Learning: Building Cultural Capacity | $5000 | Individuals and teams who have made a significant and sustained contribution to student learning through themes or activities which build cultural capacity. |
Staff wishing to apply for a citation must obtain endorsement from their national head of school, associate dean learning & teaching (ADLT) or executive dean. Staff wishing to apply for a Vice-Chancellor’s Award must obtain endorsement from their ADLT or executive dean. All signed nominations and intent to apply are to be emailed to CEI@acu.edu.au by Monday 8 July 2022.

Applications for the 2022 Australian Awards for University Teaching (AAUT) are now open to academic, general and sessional staff. Visit the AAUT website to download the 2022 Nomination Information Packs.
All nominees must register their interest with ACU’s Centre for Education and Innovation (CEI) and complete the nomination form by Friday 29 July 2022.
Guidance and support in developing applications will be provided by CEI for endorsed nominees.
