The Southern Hemisphere seasonal influenza vaccine provides protection against the seasonal strains, as recommended by the World Health Organisation. It also reduces the threat of contracting the flu and COVID-19 at the same time, which could ‘overwhelm’ the body. Please read the Australian Department of Health guidance for more information.
Watch the Flu Explainer to learn about the benefits of being vaccinated.
If you are unsure about whether you should be vaccinated, please seek advice from your doctor first.
Please wear a mask to your appointment. Bring your Medicare card with you if you attend an ACU Medical Centre as your vaccination will be bulk billed. You will also need to complete a new patient form if it is your first visit to an ACU Medical Centre.
Remember, you can also obtain the flu vaccination from your doctor if you’re unable to access ACU’s program
