Our Supervise for Success program is back again for 2022. New and fresh workshops have been added to the program to support the development of broad leadership skills for higher education professionals.
If you are looking to expand or invigorate your existing skills or are new to a supervisory role, we encourage you to attend an upcoming Supervise for Success workshop. Learn techniques in coaching and having career conversations to develop your talent. Explore the ins and outs of the higher education sector and be informed on the introduction of the new Declaration of Interest Policy.

This workshop will give you the map to navigate the higher education sector and build bridges with your academic and professional colleagues.
A brief history of higher education in Australia will set the scene for the day. The session will explore the governance and management structure of universities; the university workforce and the differences between professional and academic staff (role and progression); and current policy issues the higher education sector is facing including the re-registration of universities as self-accrediting providers.
Wednesday 28 September 9.30am–1.30pm
This workshop provides an overview of the employment relations framework at ACU and foundational principles of people management. We will work through common scenarios to equip you with the skills to confidently manage your team.
Tuesday 20 September 10am–11.30am
This program aims to provide leaders with the confidence and structure to hold positive career discussions with staff. You'll be guided through a proven and strategic road map that will help hone your skillset to build a powerful pipeline of talent. Choose to attend one of the offerings below.
Monday 19 September 9.30am–11.30am
Learn skills and strategies to confidently take constructive action in the workplace. Learn how to shift your mindset and engage and motivate your team.
Tuesday 27 September 10am–12pm
In this workshop you will learn what your responsibilities are under the Declaration of Interest Policy and ensure you are well placed to support staff through the declaration process. The session will provide you with the documentation, tools and resources available to manage declarations. Choose to attend one of the offerings below.
Tuesday 13 September 11am–12pm
Thursday 15 September 2.30pm–3.30pm
Wednesday 21 September 12pm–1pm
Develop a coaching mindset and practise a structured process to accelerate development by bringing out the best in others. This workshop is completed over two half-days.
