Changes to MFA via the Microsoft Authenticator app

From Wednesday 3 May, the Microsoft Authenticator app will require staff to enter a number to respond to MFA requests (challenges) instead of tapping Approve.

The number will appear on the screen of the MFA-protected system you are accessing. This relatively small change adds an extra layer of cyber security to your ACU account.

Note that if you use the SMS functionality to respond to MFA challenges your experience will not be affected.

What does this mean for me?

From Wednesday 3 May, you will need to use the new number matching function when responding to challenges using the Microsoft Authenticator app.

Instructions on how to do this can be found in the Service Central article How do I authenticate using the Microsoft Authenticator App for MFA?
