In December, we shared some of the plans for rollout of multifactor authentication (MFA) for students. A lot has happened since then, so here is the most recent update.
The rollout commences with Welcome Fairs at Brisbane, Strathfield, North Sydney and Melbourne campuses from today Wednesday 22 February.
We will then begin reaching out to students proactively to let them know that MFA will soon be added to their accounts, from the week commencing 13 March.
We are very excited to have a presence at the Welcome Fairs in our cyber security stalls. We will be inviting students to learn more about cyber security, early registration for MFA and handing out cyber security awareness stickers and pocket guides.
Thank you to our Marketing colleagues for their assistance in helping to bring this to life.
The first communication to students about MFA will be included in this week’s Student Bulletin, marking the formal commencement of the rollout. Further communications will then be shared throughout the year via channels such as the Student Portal, digital signage, lock screens and social media.
You can watch our promotional animated video here.
From the week beginning 13 March, MFA will be added to student accounts in manageable groups, starting with our smaller campuses. Students in each group will receive an initial email informing them of the start of their registration period and subsequent reminders up until they register.
We have completed MFA rollout training for our colleagues in:
Thank you to everyone who has made time to attend the training.
If you would like to learn more about the MFA rollout and the registration experience, you can access the recorded training here.
