The cold and flu season is upon us

To ensure we are all able to enjoy a safe work and study environment throughout the year (particularly during the colder months), we need to look after ourselves and each other by following a few simple precautions.

If you are experiencing any cold and flu-like symptoms, please stay at home until you are feeling better and let your supervisor or lecturer-in-charge know. There are currently a number of viruses circulating in the community including Influenza, Respiratory Syncytial Virus (RSV) and COVID-19. Each of these viruses typically cause cold and flu-like symptoms. It is not easy to tell the difference between them – and they are highly infectious!

Whilst ACU’s annual free flu vaccination program has now closed, you can still access flu vaccinations (at cost) through your GP or pharmacy to help maintain your health and wellbeing, especially with the onset of colder weather and flu season upon us.

Please continue to follow COVID-19 safe practices, most of which are also applicable to other respiratory illnesses.
