Voice Referendum - livestream event 2 August

ACU staff and students are invited to participate in a special livestream event on 2 August - The Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Voice: A Dialogue for Students.

ACU has partnered with The Australian National University (ANU) to participate in the event. The livestream will connect students from partner universities across Australia for an in-depth dialogue about the upcoming Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Voice Referendum.

Presented by the ANU First Nations Portfolio, the main event will be held on Ngambri and Ngunnawal land, Llewellyn Hall at ANU in Canberra.

Moderated by Professor Mark Kenny, the guest panel will cover key issues, diverse perspectives and points of contention relating to the referendum. They will also respond directly to questions from students.

Guest speakers include:

  • Senator Jana Stewart, Labor Senator for Victoria
  • Senator Andrew Bragg, Liberal Senator for NSW
  • Dean Parkin - Director, From the Heart
  • Sally Scales - Partnership Manager, Uluru Statement from the Heart
  • Professor Megan Davis, Pro Vice-Chancellor Indigenous UNSW and Co-Chair Uluru Statement from the Heart

The dialogue is a unique and important opportunity to hear from Australia’s national student body as we prepare for one of the most crucial referendums in our history.
