Support the CEO Sleepout

Senior Advisor Policy and Projects Robert Tonkli will represent ACU at the CEO Sleepout this month, raising funds for Vinnies. Find out how you can support him.

For the past 17 years, hundreds of business, government and community leaders have participated in the annual Vinnies CEO Sleepout on one of the longest and coldest nights of the year to gain a glimpse into the daily reality for tens of thousands of Australians experiencing homelessness.

In addition to funding crisis accommodation, food, health care, counselling, employment and support to find a permanent home for thousands of people across the country, Vinnies also helps to provide education opportunities like ACU’s Clemente Australia.

On 23 June, Robert will get a small glimpse into what it’s like to sleep rough. While it won’t be a comfortable night, he says it’s worth it to help make a difference in the lives of those who go without, every night of the year. 

As well as fundraising for essential services, participants hear from people with lived experience of homelessness and learn about the factors that contribute to the growing number of people facing housing instability.

This will be the last time Robert represents ACU at the Vinnies CEO Sleepout, as he leaves ACU this week for a new role with the National Catholic Education Commission (NCEC). We wish Robert all the very best in representing ACU at this event and raising much-needed funds for those in need.
