It serves as an educational tool for students, and while most people are aware of the text matching function (similarity report), Turnitin can assist you to detect academic misconduct in other ways.
For example, by mastering Turnitin, you can learn how to distinguish between text matches that are related to academic misconduct and those that are not. Turnitin also offers features to identify potential academic misconduct, including flagging ‘hidden text’ or ‘replaced characters’, there is also a relatively new artificial intelligence (AI) tool.
