Earlier this year, we launched an updated staff induction and enhanced Staff Learning Hub.
We also rolled out refresher training to all existing ongoing and fixed-term staff. It is now time to rollout this training to all new casual and sessional staff.
From Thursday 15 August, new casual and sessional staff will automatically be enrolled in the compulsory online induction training.
We will also be rolling out compliance training to all existing casual and sessional staff and this will be phased over the remainder of the year and early next year. We will be communicating with affected staff and their supervisors throughout the rollout.
This will ensure all ACU staff have an appropriate level of training and are aware of ACU’s code of conduct, mission, managing risks, workplace health and safety, and Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander cultural awareness.
This training is an important part of our duty of care to reduce unnecessary risks to staff, students and the university. Please encourage your staff to complete this training as soon as possible. You can monitor their progress via the Staff Learning Hub.
It is anticipated that the training will take two hours to complete. Casual and sessional staff will be paid for the time taken to complete the training. Once the training has been completed casual staff will need to submit a timesheet, while sessional staff will be paid automatically.
A series of FAQs have been prepared to address any questions you or your staff may have about this training. If you have any further questions, please contact learning@acu.edu.au.
