Introduction to Bystander Awareness
Wednesday 14 February 10am-11am (AEDT)
Audience: All staff
Being an active bystander means being aware of when someone’s behaviour is inappropriate or threatening and choosing to challenge it.
Throughout this session we’ll uncover the ‘bystander effect’ and why we hesitate in intervening when we see a person who may need help, is experiencing violence, or experiencing problematic behaviour. You’ll learn how to assess risk and context in a situation to understand the best and safest way to intervene.

Developing a mindset of growth and adaptability has never been more important than it is today. This two-hour workshop examines how you can embody a growth mindset and empower your team to do the same. By building a culture that is underpinned by curiosity, risk taking, and learning, you’ll soon see a positive change to organisational growth, innovation, and performance.
