A limitless professional horizon awaits ACU students after its three IT programs were awarded certification by the nation’s most trustworthy player in the tech sector, The Australian Computer Society (ACS).
The ACS, the peak accreditation body for information and communications technology in the country, has certified ACU’s Bachelor of Information Technology, Master of Information Technology and the newly launched double degree, Bachelor of IT/Bachelor of Business Administration, for the next three years.
Independent validation of the courses means ACU graduates can be confident their qualifications meet industry and ethical standards and prepare them for successful careers.
“It’s a launchpad not only in Australia, but also the world,” ACU head of discipline for IT Dr Walayat Hussain said.
“With this certification an ICT practitioner can reliably demonstrate the technical and business skills to operate successfully in any organisation.”
ACS accreditation is widely recognised by employers in the information and communications technology industry in Australia. It assures them that graduates have acquired the necessary skills and knowledge to excel in their roles.
The recognition can help open opportunities in a range of sectors, including Australian federal, state and territory governments thanks to the added credibility it provides for its professionals.
Given ACS accreditation is also recognised by the Department of Home Affairs, completing a certified degree can assist with gaining points towards skilled migration visas.
This can be crucial for international students planning to settle and work in Australia after completing their studies.
