Join this session to improve your productivity including the use of further time management strategies that become positive habits, including: Make use of the 6D filter; Eliminate time bandits; Manage interruptions and learn techniques for saying no to certain requests. Practise setting yourself up for success by making these strategies part of your daily rituals and routines.

What is it, really, and why does it matter so much? A practical session for managing personally identifiable information.

Role of Chair

Tuesday 11 June, 10.30am-11.50am
Audience: hiring managers/supervisors

In order to chair recruitment interviews at ACU you must equip yourself with the knowledge to ensure that you're following the right procedure and protocols throughout the recruitment process. The responsibilities of a chair is different to those on an interview panel member. If you're looking to prepare yourself to recruit for continuing or fixed-term staff, you must first complete the Role of Chair training. In this 80-minute session, you will gain a high-level understanding of the end-to-end recruitment process and your responsibilities as a Chair.

Develop through feedback

Tuesday 25 June, 10am-12.30pm
Audience: leaders/supervisors

All leaders have a role to play in supporting the development of their team, providing effective feedback, handling difficult conversations and receiving feedback. Throughout this session, you learn to distinguish facts from opinions, and provide objective feedback to peak performance.

This session will specifically focus on the skill of feedback, in challenging situations.

Flourishing through mission

Thursday 27 June, 10am-11am
Audience: all staff

This interactive virtual workshop provides an opportunity for staff to understand and participate in a discussion about the mission, its importance and alignment with your work at ACU, and information about ACU’s identity as a Catholic university.

Mental health first aid

This workshop is completed over two days and attendance for the whole of both days is mandatory.

Tuesday 25 June 9am-5pm and Wednesday 26 June 9am-5pm
Audience: all staff

This program is designed for staff wanting to gain the skills and confidence to recognise and provide initial assistance to others experiencing a mental health issue until the appropriate professional help is received, or the crisis resolves using a practical, evidence-based action plan.

In this interactive course, you will learn about identifying the signs and symptoms of common mental health issues such as depression, anxiety, psychosis, and substance use problems; how to provide initial help; know what professional help is available and how to access it; and learn how to handle common mental health crises.

On successful completion of this course and accompanying quiz, you will be a nationally accredited mental health first aider for three years. 

Brisbane
