Protecting your data and identity

We would like to complete cyber awareness month by introducing you to a service that is available to help all Australians in times of need. IDCare is a free identity and cyber support service for Australia and New Zealand. More than one million Australians experience a scam, cybercrime or identity theft event each year.

We’ve partnered with IDCare to support ACU staff and students in the event of an ACU cyber incident. IDCare can also help you, your family and friends in your everyday lives if you suspect that you may have had your identity compromised

IDCare’s mission is to reduce harm in the community resulting from scams, ID theft and cybercrime incidents. They have expert counsellors and case managers able to help anyone in need of this kind of assistance. More information at www.idcare.org

We remind you of other information we’ve provided during cyber awareness month, including tips at are you being cyber safe? and an engaging session by an external presenter Behind the Firewall: Cyberattack Insights and Security Awareness.

For more information visit the Australian government Cyber Security Awareness Month page where you can read about each step to take.

Stay aware all year round and remember, cyber security is everyone’s business.
