ACU honorary professor recognised

Congratulations to Professor David Runia who was named a Member of the Order of Australia in this year’s Australia Day honours.

Professor Runia was Director of ACU’s Institute for Religion and Critical Inquiry from 2017–2018 and is an Honorary Professor at ACU.

Professor Runia was recognised for significant service to tertiary education, and as an academic in the fields of humanities and social sciences.

Two ACU alumni were also recognised in this year’s honours.

Associate Professor Zuleyha Keskin was awarded a Medal of the Order of Australia for service to the Islamic community of Australia. Associate Professor Keskin graduated from ACU with a Doctor of Philosophy in 2017.

Former Victorian Cross Border Commissioner Luke Wilson was awarded a Public Service Medal for outstanding public service in the advocacy and support of regional communities during the COVID-19 pandemic. Mr Wilson graduated from ACU with a Graduate Diploma of Management in 2004.
