The Finance Fundamentals session is designed to provide an introductory overview of finance at ACU.
This includes the fundamentals here at ACU such as the chart of accounts, the systems we use and who to reach out to for support and guidance on specific finance systems and matters. If your role includes onboarding a new supplier, paying invoices, budgeting or expensing purchases and you want to learn more in this space, this session would be valuable for you.
Wednesday 19 March, 10:30am to 12pm (AEDT)
Audience: Supervisors and leaders
As the concept of psychological safety has become popularised, some of the key elements risk being overlooked. Some inaccurately portray psychologically safe cultures as soft on performance, with low standards, consensus decision making and niceness at all costs leading to risks being ignored. This challenges how we think about failure. We are often torn between two failure cultures - an “avoid failure at all costs” culture where mistakes are career ending, and a “fail fast/fail forward” culture where mistakes are celebrated. Instead, we should focus on how we fail well.
This workshop explores the origins of psychological safety in hospitals, the implications for failure and belonging, and how it applies in your work today.
Thursday 27 March, 10:30am to 12:30pm (AEDT)
Audience: Supervisors and leaders
Institutions stand to gain a lot when they embed trust at their core. As well as being morally important, it’s an organisational enabler of high performance. Research by Paul Zak found that high trust companies gain 76 per cent more engagement from their employees, 40 per cent less burnout and 50 per cent more productivity.
Lack of trust can cause the flip side, including disengagement, conflict, creation of silos, low productivity and increased turnover.
Enabling leaders to build trust is a key capability that will enhance teamwork, collaboration and underpins a transparent and open culture.
Thursday 27 March, 2pm to 3pm (AEDT)
Audience: All staff
Truth and Love are the key words ACU's Mission Statement rests on, such that they are the words that appear on ACU's official flag. What do these words mean, what is their relationship to each other and what does this mean for staff at ACU?
This session stands alone but is also the second of six sessions in the mission statement module.
Monday 31 March, 11am to 12:30pm (AEDT)

When we set a goal, we often focus on the big actions that will make them a reality. However, committing to small habitual actions each day is more likely to make a difference in the long run.
This workshop will help you develop a deeper understanding of the power of habits. It shows how habits can be intentionally developed to support long-term wellbeing goals.
