ACU will pilot turning off the Turnitin Artificial Intelligence (AI) Indicator tool from Monday 17 March. This decision follows thorough consultation, and is based on several key concerns, including:
After Monday 17 March, staff will not be able to view the AI% reports. This date has been selected to minimise impact on the submission dates for various study periods.
Please note: the Turnitin Similarity Report is not impacted by this decision; these reports will still be available to staff and students.
Under ACU’s Student Academic Integrity and Misconduct Policy, unauthorised use of generative AI, paraphrasing and translation tools are not permitted. Suspected instances of unauthorised use should be lodged by the lecturer in charge through SAMMS, providing appropriate supporting evidence.
