HELTA webinar: Interactive Oral Assessments

Explore the future of assessment with Interactive Orals. We’ll be joined by expert, Danielle Logan-Fleming to share valuable insights into this transformative model and its impact across disciplines.

Join us for an insightful ACU webinar on Interactive Oral (IO) assessments—an innovative and flexible assessment model that is reshaping student evaluation across various disciplines. In this session, Danielle Logan-Fleming, one of the original architects of the IO model, will explore the pedagogical foundations and practical applications of IO assessments, drawing on real-world examples from diverse fields.

Unlike traditional assessments, IOs are dynamic, unscripted, and based on real-world scenarios, enabling students to showcase their communication, critical thinking, and problem-solving skills in a more authentic context. Conducted in-person or online, IOs offer an engaging alternative to standard assessment methods, fostering deeper student learning while upholding academic integrity.

Danielle is a recognised leader in assessment innovation, with experience leading institution-wide reforms and consulting on best practices for IO assessment globally. In this webinar, she will provide practical advice for implementing IO assessments and share insights into how they can be used to enhance both teaching and learning.
