About the Session

This program will serve as an introduction to LGBTIQ+ issues so that staff are better equipped to support LGBTIQ+ students and staff. Framed around the university mission, the program will cover:

  • legislation relating to LGBTIQ+ people in Australia
  • data around the challenges facing LGBTIQ+ people in Australia today
  • terminology
  • scenarios and ways that staff might demonstrate allyship
  • resources for further information and support for LGBTIQ+ people in Australia.

Audience

Staff interested in learning how to be an ally to the LGBTIQ+ members of the ACU community and information about how to join the ACU Ally Network
