North Sydney Council’s Backstreet Block Party

As part of the Council’s Sounds of September Music Month, the event will feature a combi van DJ as well as a silent disco. Located near the DJ and dance floor will be a pop-up bar selling craft beer and other beverages. Food vendors will be selling a variety of dishes, including Italian and Japanese cuisine. There will also be a gelato van and a Monster Rolls truck.

Lovers of art will be able to watch a feature artist painting with luminous paint on Thursday evening and on Friday night there will be a ‘battle’ between two artists allowing the participants to dictate the subject matter. The Council will also create a light display with projections thrown onto the wall just off Napier Street on the Coca Cola building.

ACU will be exhibiting works from the photographic competition currently running on campus and the entries from the Creative and Performing Arts competition which includes 24 visual artworks, 11 short films and 16 photographs.

Currently, the team at ACU is exploring ways to widen the event to our local community including local primary and high schools as well as residents and local businesses. This will include promotion of our post graduate programs and Foundation initiatives.
