“Truth and Love in a Time of Fear: Australia up close and Personal”

A message from the Associate Vice Chancellor Brisbane, Professor Jim Nyland: Colleagues, can I take this opportunity to wish you a warm welcome back and Happy New Year.

ACU Brisbane will host one of the University’s first major public events of the new year with the fifth Annual Vice Chancellor and President/Archbishop Catholic Stakeholder and Panel Discussion dinner event, Truth and Love in a Time of Fear: Australia up close and Personal, scheduled to take place on Tuesday 21 March 2017, 6.30pm to 9.30pm at the Hilton Hotel in Brisbane.

This high profile University event, which will be opened with an Address by the Chancellor, The Hon John Fahey AC, and closed with a Vote of Thanks by the Pro Chancellor, Mr Julien O’Connell AM, will see a panel of influential and entertaining Australian experts come together, providing fresh insight into the hot issues and moral dilemmas of our time.

The fourth Annual Vice Chancellor and President/Archbishop Catholic Stakeholder dinner event, Leadership and Mercy: the Challenge for Corporate Australia, held in 2016 with an expert panel comprising, Professor Greg Craven AO,  Archbishop Mark Coleridge, Mr Karl Morris (Executive Chairman of Ord Minnett Ltd) and Ms Rowena McNally (Chair, National Employment Services Association).

This year, Dr Michael Casey, Director, PM Glynn Institute, will steer the expert panel comprising Vice Chancellor and President Professor Greg Craven AO, Archbishop of Brisbane The Most Reverend Mark Coleridge, Father Frank Brennan SJ AO, CEO, Catholic Social Services Australia, Ms Leanne Linard MP, Member for Nudgee (Banyo) and Dr Lee-Anne Perry AM, Executive Director, Qld Catholic Education Commission, providing high level discussion and debate across our areas of mission.

The evening will be held in the prestigious Grand Ballroom of the Hilton Hotel in Brisbane’s CBD to accommodate the 300 strong audience of senior professionals in attendance who see this annual gathering as the hottest ticket in town in the corporate calendar year.
