Register now for the video conference: Managing WHS Risk at ACU

This presentation focuses on the tools you can use at ACU to easily identify and remove hazards, and the triggers for formally assessing and treating (controlling) WHS risk.

ACU is strongly committed to maintaining safe working and learning spaces and the University publishes a number of checklists and forms which support the ACU community to manage risk. This session has a practical focus and guides staff about accessing, selecting and using tools such as office and laboratory inspection checklists, systems and WHS assessment forms.

The presentation also explores how riskware supports the University to identify hazards and manage risk. Staff will also be encouraged to avoid some common pitfalls, such as not effectively consulting about the management of risk.

Outline for presentation:

  • Getting back to basics: What is a hazard, risk?
  • What policy commitments has ACU made to manage risk?
  • When wouldn’t you formally assess WHS risk?
  • What are the triggers for assessing risk?
  • What ACU tools are available to assess and manage risk?
  • Does riskware support ACU to more effectively manage risk?

Session details:

Date: Tuesday, 26 September 2017
Time: 12pm to 1pm

This session will be conducted via video conference at all campuses and there is no cost for attendance.
