Improving interlibrary loans

The Library has a wide range of online and print material to meet your teaching and research needs. But if you can’t find what you’re looking for, we’re still here to help.

As a staff member at ACU, you can request items not held by the Library using our interlibrary loans service.

We’ve recently updated our system, making it easier for you to keep track of your requests.

Important changes to interlibrary loans

You can now see your current interlibrary loans and the status of your requests in My Library. Simply sign in to My Library to see more.

Understand interlibrary loans

The ILL service is for ACU staff & HDR students to access resources not held in the ACU collection.

  • Use the request form to request interlibrary loans online.
  • You can have up to 30 active ILL requests at any time.
  • You will receive an email when the loan item is available to collect from your local campus library.
  • Loan periods vary according to the lending institution, ranging from 2 weeks to 8 weeks.
  • You will receive an email reminder three days before your loan item is due to be returned.
  • In your My Library the return note will say “Return to: ACU resource sharing library”: just return your loan items to your local campus library on or before the due date.
  • Copies of chapters and articles will be sent to you as an email attachment which you can keep.
